All events will be two races unless otherwise indicated.
Races to count – 5 out of 8, 4 out of 7, 4 out of 6, 3 out of 5, 3 out of 4, 2 out of 3, 2 out of 2, 1 out of 1
An overall points scheme will run for all club events apart from Open meetings. This scheme is to encourage boats onto the water – the more events you enter, the more points you gain. Points are given to the first 5 boats in each counting event, on a descending scale; in addition, each boat completing an event will receive 1 point. If the number of starters is less than 5, maximum points will be allocated pro rata. At the end of the season points will be totalled to give winners in five categories – Mono helm, Cat helm, Crew, Lady and August Plate (most points scored by a junior during August).
All Race Officers (OD, AOD, and Safety boat) will get average points for the day if they are eligible for racing.
NB remember to fill in all relevant names on the results sheet.
1280+ racing is a series dedicated to the smaller / slower boats whose handicap is 1280 and above. This series is open to both adults and juniors.
Jean’s Jug is a series for 1280+ boats whose helm and crew are both Junior members.
SBH Trophy will be awarded to the person gaining the most points over the 3 days who did not actually win a prize.
On days when separate fleets are identified, if there are not enough boats to form one of the fleets (3) those boats remaining may sail with the trophy fleet but will be awarded points only.
On days designated for Jean’s Jug and 1280+, if there are insufficient eligible boats to form a fleet (3) then a scratch race may be run for any boats wishing to sail. Such races will count for points and may be allocated to unraced trophies.
